Warehouse Associate
 
General Description:   Salem West is a Donations center that serves client referrals first. The Warehouse Associate is responsible for overseeing donations intake, sorting, and cleaning of applicable hard and soft goods. Inventory organization, warehouse safety, and parking lot traffic flow for donors.
 

 Essential Job Functions: 

  • Completes all tasks related to accepting donations, presorting, cleaning, and pricing merchandise.
  • Welcome donors in a timely manner in a way that they feel confident that Salem West appreciates them and understands their value.
  • Handle the receiving and donation process with the utmost respect and care including, greeting the donor, assisting in unloading donations, telling the Salem West story, and issuing a receipt.
  • Help maintain clean and well organized reception, presort and processing areas.
  • Maintain clean and well organized personal processing stations.
  • Assist in assembling client referrals
  • Assist in picking appropriate furniture for delivery volunteers.
  • Reports any safety violations immediately to Salem West Manager
  • Organizes the onsite inventory. 
  • Ensures that all safety policies and best practices are being adhered to, by setting the example and enforcing good order. 
  • Maintains daily counts for all incoming donations. 
  • Ensures that the Donation Warehouses are kept neat, clean, and organized. Free from safety violations
  • Setup Monthly Rummage Sales throughout the summer months.

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Must have a friendly, smiling demeanor.
  • Ability to interact cooperatively with individuals and groups. 
  • Ability to organize and supervise volunteers. 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds. 
  • Must be detail-oriented and have solid organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a problem solver and be able to work with a minimum of supervision and take initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Osha 10 training recommended.
